Fike Adventures

Where each day is an adventure, life is NEVER boring, and we find JOY in the little things.

Remember back in the beginning of November, we were very sure I had covid and the test was a false negative. I had lost taste and was very sick for over two weeks….Then Jeff got covid with a positive test the beginning of December.

I went and got an antibody blood test to see if I was immune…but I had not developed any antibodies. This is not uncommon with immune compromised people.

All of us got sick a few days later, much like the flu. We felt that I gave covid to Jeff.

Now, Sunday, I was having serious abdominal pain and went to the ER. They quarantined me while I waited, because I was exposed to Jeff. (It was a 6.5 hour wait.)

They determined I had pneumonia in lower lobes and one middle lobe. Gave me meds there and more to take at home.

They also did a covid test…. they called today to tell me it is POSITIVE.

The questions in my mind are confusing. All I know is that I am tired of being sick. I knew the risk. I was careful. I got sick. Honestly. I don’t think there is truely any way to prevent this virus. They say wash your hands, wear the mask…. but on the outside of my ER room, the sign said WARNING: AIRBORNE VIRUS. I am still taking vitamins C, and D, zinc, and elderberry…. and now zithromax.

If you are in contact with someone who has it, you are going to get it.
