Fike Adventures

Where each day is an adventure, life is NEVER boring, and we find JOY in the little things.

*This post comes with a WARNING. Many of you will not agree with the following words. I am not calling anyone out. I still love all my friends and family, whether or not you believe the following. This has been on my heart for a while, and I have done much research into this topic.

This week’s Jr Church lesson was about God’s Invisible Army. (2 Kings 6:8-23) It encouraged to me to write this. We are surrounded by a great spriritual battle. (Ephesians 6:12) We cannot see the spiritual battle, but it is there, and very real. We are currently in the end times, before Jesus returns. The battle is only going to get more intense the closer we get to His return.

We know that the only way to Heaven is through Jesus, by accepting Him as our Savior.

We can do our part teaching our children about God. Our main focus should be on God. We need to train our children at home, whether they are homeschooled or not. Don’t rely only on the church to train your child. The church only sees them for a few hours a week. That is not enough for a good foundation. They need to see and live what is taught at church, being taught and lived at home. Our children, even the very young, need to be taught to pray to God at anytime for any reason. They need to have daily Bible reading and study. They could also read or watch videos about famous Christians, or Bible stories. Their music should honor and glorify God. In fact ALL that they do should honor and glorify God.

Some people might call this sheltering or helicopter parenting. It is called teaching, training and nurturing children in the Lord. We should know everything about our child’s teachers, coaches, and friends. There are so many evil people who are wolves in sheep’s clothing waiting for just the right moment to influence your child…even in Christian environments.

Our children need to know that the same Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, is the same unfailing God that loves them and cares about them. He is the one they need to look to in times of trouble. They need to know what Jesus did on the cross, and that He rose again on the third day…That He is the only way to Heaven.
