Fike Adventures

Where each day is an adventure, life is NEVER boring, and we find JOY in the little things.

The following is just my opinion about current issues…although I am sure they are shared by many.

We teach our children stories from the Bible about how God is all powerful and can do miraculous things.  Stories like Esther, Daniel and his 3 friends, Joshua, Gideon, Paul, and other great men who followed God into standing for what is right.  We teach them that if they bravely stand for God, God will stand with you or fight for you, or in the case of Esther, she bravely said, “If I perish, I perish.”

Sometimes the leaders are unexpected leaders, and sometimes their reports are unpopular, or they may not even have the most ideal life example.  However, those leaders were chosen by God, and relied on HIM for wisdom and strength.

Many churches today are hiding behind Romans 13:1 and Philippians 2:15, saying that we should submit to ALL government authority…We need to be careful to not offend anyone…We need to live quiet lives, not drawing attention to ourselves.

Philippians 2:15

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Obviously, God sees times that we SHOULD NOT submit to authority.  The four Hebrew children who would not eat the king’s meat, Shadrach Meshach and Abednego not bowing to the idol, Daniel continuing to pray as he always did.  Esther hiding her Jewish heritage and boldly entering the kings throne room.  Paul and others preaching the Gospel and being put in jail.  Countless missionaries who have secretly gone to areas that the Word of God is forbidden.

Matthew 5:13-15

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Salt in a wound is cleansing, but painful or offensive.  Light is offensive to men who love darkness.  The Gospel is also offensive to those that want to live in sin.  Just the same as the freedom we have been granted by God though our founding fathers is offensive to those who hate this country and desire a socialistic government…Mostly because they want everything handed to them without working for it.  Jesus threw the money changers out of the Temple…and did it without sinning…offending the Pharisees.

There are still others that warn that we need to be careful how our actions appear to others.   Well, people are going to see what they want.  Christians are the odd ones in this “crooked and perverse nation”.  If anything, Christians should honor the fact that this nation was built on Godly principles and the absolute desire to worship God as they saw fit…leaving the controlling, government led church of England.  They loved God and wanted to show it…and yes it came to literal war to separate from England.  There were other issues they fought for too.  They wanted a FREE country.

Today we have a demonic attack on Christians and this Christian nation to take away the freedom that so many have fought for.  We need to PRAY and seek God.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We need to pray for our leaders, our President, Vice President, local and national house and senate members.  Pray that Americans will turn back to God.  Wake up sleeping Christians to warn of the danger of losing this freedom.

Ezekiel 33:3-9

If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Hebrews 11:7

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Galatians 5:13

13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

We sing songs like “Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus” and “Sound the Battle Cry”, but are we willing to stand to keep the freedom that God has given us.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” ― Edmund Burke

It is time to stop “doing nothing”.

It is time to take a stand.
