We have been using this app for a while. It list food that is overstock or near its sell by date. With the way my kids eat, this has been a great source of fresh food.
Today, I picked up:
- 3 – 5 lb bags of red potatoes
- 4 pks of .6 lb honey ham (deli)
- 2 pks of kolby ground beef
- 3 pks of ground turkey
- 2 pineapples
- 3 pks of strawberries
All of this for right about $45. The products are at least half the original price. With today’s grocery prices continuing to go up, and talk of short supplies coming, this makes fresh food still affordable.
We pretty regularly get $5 boxes of fruit or veggies. Earlier this week we picked up several Chobani yogurts for $0.59. The items are just over stock or near their end date.
This might be a local thing, but check with your grocery stores to see if they have something similar.
