Fike Adventures

Where each day is an adventure, life is NEVER boring, and we find JOY in the little things.

This is a post I made to facebook on May 8, 2015. As soon as the weather starts to warm up, my autonomic dysfunction seems to kick in to noticable mode.

Autonomic dysfunction at its best…in 1993, I had surgery to correct problems with some nerves after a car accident 2 years earlier. The results are still good all these years later…the side effect to cutting a branch of nerves is that the upper right side of me does not regulate temperature normally (and does not sweat). This is good and bad…Bad on days like today….
Me and 4 kids went to the CHAP convention, and it was very warm (mild understatement).
Because half of my head does not sweat, the other half overcompensates…leaving half of my head soaked. (Sorry, gross! I know!) Wet hair means curly, short hair…..so, it ended up looking like I only did half of my hair today, or I could not make up my mind for short, crazy curls or staighter styled. I did not realize how different each side was until we got in the van! (now you know where Jo and Omi got their curls)
